Colorado Coaches Academy
Colorado Youth Soccer’s Colorado Coaches Academy (CCA) is a program designed to address coaches’ education one topic at a time. The CCA is planned with the intention of offering coaches instruction that is free of charge and hopefully at times that meet their schedules. CYS understands that coaches are looking to grow with the game but too often find it difficult to find the time and/or the funds to attend other educational opportunities. That is the reason for the CCA. CYS will offer coaching sessions that will tackle pertinent topics for our coaches. Some will be geared at recreational coaches while others will delve into topics for coaches of more advanced players. Time is precious for coaches and many don’t have full days or weekends to dedicate to coaching clinics. The CCA will offer these ‘education stations’ in two manners 1) ’Open Sessions’ in geographically friendly locations around the state, in hope that it is easy for coaches to attend and 2) by going to the club to hosted sessions. These coaching sessions again will be free of charge and will be offered on a weekday evening in an effort to avoid busy weekend schedules of team and family commitments.
Clubs interested in holding a CCA session can contact CSA Director of Coach Mike Freitag, 303.346.2777 ext. 117 to request a session and discuss a topic for their club coaches. Any coach is invited to attend the open CCA sessions organized by CSA which will be listed on the CSA website.
CSA Technical Staff
Executive Director of Coaching Mike Freitag is available to assist in club coaching education and will even come out to run a training session for teams if they are available. You can contact him at 303-346-2777 x-117 or mfreitag@coloradosoccer.org
